ABOUT
Susan J. Eddington, PhD is a Media Psychologist whose research and practice interests include media representations, media effects, inter-group relations, social identity, adolescent identity development, and media literacy. Her dissertation research was a study of media representations of Black women on television and how these representations can impact the well-being of Black women and girls. Her current projects include a documentary, Against the Odds: The Power of Community to Overcome, a look at how citizen activism can lead to environmental justice; and MASCITEC, an initiative to encourage interest in STEM related careers for Black adolescent girls.
