Alfredo Ardila got a degree in psychology at the National University of Colombia in 1969 and a doctoral degree in neuropsychology in 1976 from the Moscow State University, where he was working with A.R. Luria. His main research areas are: brain organization of language, bilingualism, and evolution of human cognition. He has been professor in different countries including Colombia, México, Spain, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Russia, Serbia, Italy, Bolivia, Chile, Venezuela, and the United States. He has published over 400 journal papers and he is author or co-author of about 30 books in cognitive neurosciences and related areas. He has been President of different professional association and currently is Editor of the journal Neuropsicología, Neuropsiquiatría y Neurociencias.
