Deborah Scearce-Miles
Deborah Scearce-Miles. With a BA in anthropology and psychology, an education minor, and a MA in psychology, Deborah's academic research is motivated by observations. Her interest in video games and her mother's memory issues led to some of Deborah's first academic research projects. Her passion for social justice fueled by her brush with economic hardship led to her interest in using media and art to positively impact perceptions of homelessness, poverty, and the state of child welfare in the US. Understanding the volunteers' motivations and those that advocate for these issues, Deborah suggests, is vital in designing solutions.
